BMW Motorrad shows a concept for a "cross traffic assistant" at their BMW Motorrad Innovation Day 2011. Their Connect Ride concept communicates with other vehicles to determine their location, direction of travel and speed and then uses this information to determine if a collision is possible. If so, the system warns the rider through audio and visual signals and increases frontal illumination to warn other vehicles.
